v6.0 – Social & Mobile Gaming
Sixth meetups already? We can’t believe it but here we are. #StartupLokal meetup v6.0 with Social & Mobile Gaming as the topic of the night. Mobile is BIG but hey, it’s even bigger here on Indonesia. Another addition to it, who doesn’t like playing games?
Wisma Kyoei Prince was the place honoured with the chance to held the meetup, The meetup was sponsored by OgahRugi.com and the participants got a free dinner.
The first session was a BizSpark presentation by Irving Hutagalung from Microsoft Indonesia which was supposed to be presented in the previous meetup.
Irving explained the program and the SkyDrive facility for local startups developer, the BizSpark program is a program that gave startups an easy and fast access to Microsoft’s development softwares. BizSpark also gave connection to 2.000 partners that involved in the BizSpark network. While for SkyDrive, Microsoft gave free online storage of 25 GB with features in it.
Next up was Nokia but because of the traffic, the session is cancelled and moved on to the speaker, Emmanuel Allix from InMobi – he talked about the mobile industry growth and how to monetize from a mobile App that made by startups. From InMobi’s data, Nokia is still dominating Indonesia, 4 billions Ad impression came from Indonesia(25% from across the world) and 60% of those impression came from Nokia handsets.
Panelists which contain Ridho Irawan(CMO PT. Reijman Mandiri Santoso – games.co.id), Vincent(Indomog.com),Mohan Belani(E27.sg and Mobret Director), Bret Terrill(ex-Zynga) with the moderator Pitra Satvika(Stratego) continued the meetup with an intense but interesting discussion.
Not only startups from Indonesia, but we saw lots of foreign people participated in this meetup, far different from the previous meetups. There’s guys from Yahoo, Google and foreign investors.
